1992 is the Golden Anniversary year of Carl Barks' first art for a Walt Disney comic book and -appropriately! - Halloween in Duckburg is based on one of the Duck Man's most famous comic book covers, an expanded and eerie holiday mix of ducks and hobgoblins.

Witch Hazel, Donald and nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie (with jack-o’-lantern) appeared on the cover of Donald Duck #26 in November, 1953, illustrating the lead story, "Trick or Treat,” a heavily censored adaptation of an animated cartoon by the same name. Halloween in Duckburg, which Barks recreated in a horizontal format, adds ghosts and other creatures of the night from the original comic book story.

Another Rainbow publisher Bruce Hamilton comments, "Of all the lithographs we've produced, this nineteenth print in our regular large series has got to be one of the most beautiful. Its 16 1/2” x 22" image size on 22" x 27" paper is the largest we've done since 'A 1934 Belchfire Runabout!,’ which came out in 1984.”

Accompanying all copies in all editions of Halloween in Duckburg is an oversize, 12" x 8" full-color comic book that reprints "Trick or Treat" on quality paper. All deleted pages have been restored and printed as Barks originally intended them! Each comic is numbered to match its lithograph.
